2010 Ladies GunThe Elizabeth Colt Legacy FoundationColt Single Action Army RevolverTulsa, Oklahoma
For the 30th Anniversary of the Colt Collectors Association show, the ECLF has created a very special Colt Single Action Army revolver to be raffled October 2, 2010. In 2010 the foundation disbursed funds to the Ft. Hayes University shooting team, Hayes, Kansas. We will be announcing future disbursements at the Colt Show in October. Our President, Jan Quick, has a column in the magazine that updates the membership. Please check her column and find out what we are doing to encourage and facilitate our youth in firearms related endeavors. Thank you Lt. Gen. William M. Keys, President and CEO and Joyce Rubino, Vice President, of Colt’s Manufacturing Co., LLC, for the donation of this fine Colt Single Action Army revolver. The foundation appreciates your continuing support. Joe Canali and Beverly Haynes continue to be a part of the design team that has brought this project to completion. Beverly, in her role as Colt’s Historian and Joe, as Archivist, have written the important Colt factory letter that accompanies this unique revolver. We thank them for their continuing support. As always, we thank Denise Thirion for the superb engraving on the Ladies Gun “Legacy 2010.” Denise has been our engraver of choice since we started using the Colt Single Action revolver. She is a highly skilled and desirable engraver. This year’s winner adds a one of a kind revolver to his/her collection. Les Yoder continues to donate deluxe museum style cases for the Ladies Gun. Les and Earl Whitney design our cases. This year’s case is cherry and has one drawer with long horn steer drawer pulls. The interior velvet cloth color is Colt blue. The CCA Show Gun case also features the same drawer pulls. We appreciate their efforts and thank them for their continuing support. The scrimshawed ivory stocks for “Legacy2010” were donated by Jim Alaimo, Nutmeg Sports, Tolland, Connecticut. Thank you for your continuing support. Earl Whitney and Barbara Hinesley donated an Oklahoma medallion that features the state seal. Thank you both for your continuing support. This year’s highly engraved Elizabeth Colt Legacy Foundation Ladies Gun is a .45 caliber with a rare 4 ¼” barrel with ejector. The finish is nickel-plated with a fire blue package. The one piece elephant ivory stocks has a colorized Colt dome scrimshawed on the left panel. Legacy2010 has its own special serial number. The Elizabeth Colt Legacy Foundation continues to be successful due to the contributions of the Colt Collectors Association membership and you have our grateful appreciation. Carol K. Wilkerson |
